Where were you?

September 11th - I was six years old, watching cartoons before kindergarten. The news interrupted the scheduled program with live footage of the hijacked airplanes hitting the twin towers.

I asked my mother the common question: Why does the plane keep hitting the building?

After this comment, my parents changed the channel to watch the coverage upstairs in their bedroom.

Obama inauguration: I was in 7th grade, and the inauguration was projected on a big screen during lunch. The Vice Principal gets on the microphone: our first African American president was inaugurated today. A big round of applause filled the room.

Sandy Hook Shooting: I was a junior in high school. Before my biology class, someone said a woman shot up a school.

But later on, I found it was reported that 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 first graders at Sandy Hook  Elementary School.

This was an essential time for social media to be crucial for reporters.

The 26 Acts of Kindness hashtag went viral after  NBC reporter Ann Curry tweeted out to followers to spread love in acts of gun violence.

Another viral Facebook post was the Famous Poem of Twas the Night Before Christmas Sandy Hook kids entering Heaven.

The final story was of first-grade teacher Victoria Soto who risked her life to save her students’ lives.

2016 Election Night: I was covering Election Night for my Online News Class at my college viewing party sponsored by College Republicans and College Democrats.

The crowd size started off strong. Once Trump was the projected winner of Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, the event crowd size decreased. Students were walking out of the event crying for the country's future.

A Political Professor said to me. It will be a short night if Hilary Clinton wins these certain states.

The next day was rainy. I went to Starbucks overhead a little girl saying  I hope Oprah or Michelle Obama runs for president.

This fall picture was taken two days after the 2016 Election.

Christine Blasey Ford Hearing: I was in my first-year post-college, watching the hearing on my laptop. The Blasey Ford Hearing was a teachable moment for Americans in the Me Too era.  Everywhere you went, people were watching the hearing through a mobile device.

John Mccain Funeral: I watched Meghan Mccain’s famous eulogy speech about the late Senator McCain while working as a summer receptionist in an empty, quiet Remax office on labor day weekend.

Trump Senate Impeachment Hearings: The first day of the impeachment hearings was the first day of my internship with Senator Chuck Schumer. These impeachment hearings will inspire future lawyers.

Kobe Bryant Funeral: I was at my U.S Senate internship office watching the coverage on the office tv.

Global Coronavirus  Pandemic: I worked as a part-time cashier at my local grocery store.

2020 Election: I was having a socially distanced brunch with my college roommate when I got Associated Press Alert that Former Vice President Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in Presidential Race.
